This exclusive, invitation-only class is designed for exceptional junior debaters who are seeking to compete at the highest levels. Focused on tournament preparation, the course dives into advanced theory, sophisticated argumentation techniques, and high-level competitive strategies to equip students with the tools they need to excel in elite debate settings.

At the heart of the course is a deep exploration of advanced debate theory. Students will engage with complex philosophical concepts, debate frameworks, and theoretical models that are foundational to top-tier debate. This includes studying the intricacies of policy, value, and fact-based debates, analyzing how these formats are structured and how to approach them with precision. Students will learn how to construct nuanced arguments that are logically sound, rhetorically persuasive, and backed by strong evidence.

Sophisticated argumentation techniques are a key focus, with the course guiding students through the development of multi-layered, high-level arguments. Students will learn how to craft arguments that not only stand on their own but also anticipate and dismantle counterarguments with finesse. The emphasis will be on building intricate logical frameworks and presenting them in a way that is both intellectually rigorous and strategically compelling.

In addition, the course prepares students for the rigorous demands of tournament-level competition. Students will develop high-level competitive strategies, learning how to analyze their opponents' arguments, identify weaknesses, and strategically counter them. Special attention will be given to timing, pacing, and strategic interventions that can turn the tide of a debate. Students will also practice tournament-style formats, simulating the pressure and intensity of real competitions to hone their ability to perform under time constraints.

Throughout the course, students will participate in mock tournaments, receive in-depth feedback from instructors, and engage in peer discussions that challenge their thinking and improve their skills. By the end of the class, students will have refined their debate strategies, honed their argumentative techniques, and be fully prepared for the challenges of high-level debate tournaments. This class is ideal for students who are already performing at a high level in debate and are seeking to sharpen their skills in preparation for elite competitions.
