This course introduces students to the basics of competitive debate, focusing on quick thinking, argument construction, and impromptu speaking. Students will learn how to analyze topics rapidly, build persuasive cases, and present logical arguments within time limits. The course covers essential research methods, teaching students how to gather credible information quickly to support their arguments. Rebuttal strategies are also emphasized, helping students anticipate and effectively counter opposing arguments. Through practice debates and peer feedback, students will develop the skills needed to succeed in fast-paced competitive debate environments.
